The foreign ministers of the two countries agreed on negotiations to resolve the accumulated conflicts. Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Hungary Dmytro Kuleba and Péter Szijjártó agreed on new negotiations in Kiev due to a severe crisis in relations. This reported Evropeyskaya Pravda on Thursday, January 14, with a link to Dmitry Kuleba. It is noted that the arrival of the Hungarian official is expected by the end of the month. “Hungary is an important partner and close neighbor of ours. Neighbors do sometimes quarrel but afterwards they have to put it up, because they still remain neighbors. Therefore, we agreed that at the end of January my colleague Péter Szijjártó will visit Kiev to discuss the situation in bilateral relations and ways to solve problems based on the principle of mutual respect, "the minister said. Other sources of the publication also say that the visit is scheduled for the last week of January, after the change of power in the United States. At the same time, we are not talking about an official meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which was the basis for Kuleba's meetings with Szijjártó earlier, but about a personal visit of the Hungarian minister to find a way out of the crisis in relations. Hungary was the initiator of the negotiations, but the invitation to meet in Kiev, according to media reports, came from the Ukrainian side. Recall, in November last year, the SBU conducted searches in the Society of Hungarians in Transcarpathia. During the searches, they found a number of printed materials that popularize the so-called "Greater Hungary" and the creation of ethnic autonomy in Transcarpathia. In response, Hungary threatened complaining to NATO about Ukraine and summoned the Ukrainian ambassador to the carpet.
