“The Democratic Party understands very well and actually shares the idea of holding early parliamentary elections.”
This was stated by the Democratic Party of Moldova chairman Pavel Filip, deschide.md reports.
According to the politician, the DPM is “the political party that suffered most in this parliament.”
“Most deputies who left were from our party,” Philip said.
The democrat leader recalled that it was his party that took the first step leaving the government in order to enable the future President of Moldova to improve relations with parliament members.
Referring to the Chicu government resignation, Pavel Filip said that it was due to the Democratic Party and because Ion Chicu did not want to lead the executive branch supported by the Sor party.
The politician also stressed that the head of state must nominate a candidate for prime minister who will manage the problems facing the state. Otherwise, early parliamentary elections will be the only way out.
