Partial restrictive measures may be introduced in Moldova to stop the spread of coronavirus. During the March 15 parliament meeting, speaker Zinaida Greceanii and acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi discussed restrictions tightening in the country, but without introducing a lockdown.
As the parliament press service noted, the speaker and the head of the Cabinet discussed the epidemiological and economic situation in the country.
In particular, Greceanii and Ciocoi exchanged views on possible restrictions tightening to stop the virus spread, but without introducing a lockdown. At the same time, they discussed measures to mitigate the pandemic’s impact on business and national economy as a whole.
Recall, on March 13, the Supreme Security Council (SCC) and President Maia Sandu recommended that government and parliament declare a state of emergency in Moldova for two weeks.
The chairman of the Socialists Party
Igor Dodon criticized Sandu's intention to introduce a state of emergency in Moldova for two weeks. According to Dodon, the total lockdown will exacerbate the economic crisis in the country. On March 14, Dodon said he discussed with the parliament leadership the introduction of partial restrictive measures that will allow the economy to work.
