Ukrainian Foreign Minister
Dmytro Kuleba called the contacts between Kiev and Washington the record intensity since the USSR collapse,
TASS reported.
The diplomat regarded the dynamics of improving relations with the United States as unprecedented and assured that the republic did not intend to "slow down" in this direction. “Our strategic partnership is developing successfully. (...) This has never happened in all the years of Ukraine's independence,” Kuleba said.
He added that Ukraine has already begun to fulfill promises and agreements that were reached during the visit of US Secretary of State
Anthony Blinken to Kiev in early May. “All the issues that were discussed during the visit of the Secretary of State move, starting from the support of the United States in countering the Russian Federation and ending with the support of reform process in Ukraine,” the minister stressed.
Earlier, President of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelensky said that he expects to receive a "powerful signal" from
NATO in June, which will confirm the intentions of its members to accept the republic into their ranks. He also stressed that the material and technical assistance from the alliance to strengthen the country's defense has recently increased significantly.
