The draft resolution submitted by the PAS regulating the transportation of voters from the Transdniestrian region on July 11 was not supported by the Central Election Commission (CEC), as it did not receive the required number of votes. Attempts to put the PAS draft on the agenda were made twice, but each time there were not enough votes. Yesterday, a PDS representative forwarded this draft to the CEC again, tv8.md reports. During the meeting, Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, a representative with an advisory vote, demanded that CEC member Maxim Lebedinschi be disqualified from considering this issue, but her request was not supported. "The study and decision-making by Mr. Lebedinschi, who is a member of the Communist and Socialist Bloc and whose brother is a candidate on the EBCS list, raises sufficient and reasonable suspicion," said a PDS spokeswoman. Since this is a normative act, the Commission requested an opinion from the Ministry of Justice and the National Anti-Corruption Center, which were to submit a legal expertise of the document. On Tuesday, the CEC received legal expertise from two institutions. Earlier, PDS candidate Olesea Stamate asked the CEC members to approve the submitted draft resolution regulating the transportation of voters from the Transdniestrian region on July 11. The Civic Coalition for Free and Fair Elections has also repeatedly called on the CEC to take a decision to prevent organized voter transportation for the 11 July elections.
