Pobeda Bloc Intends to Participate in the Parliamentary Plections: Gutul Will Be First on the List

Sor also said that the bloc members plan to give the authorities in Chisinau all the necessary documents next week. At the same time, the politician believes that Moldova’s salvation will come from an “alliance with Russia”. “I believe that the alliance with the Russian Federation should be strong and reliable for centuries to come, because we share common traditions, a common history, a common understanding of life and common sense,” Sor said at a meeting in Moscow. The Sor party, set up by the politician, was ruled illegal. Later, the politician on the run started to control a few groups from behind the scenes, which he brought together into a political bloc. The Chisinau authorities suspect the leaders of these groups of illegally obtaining money. Evghenia Gutul is on trial and faces up to nine years in prison. The verdict is expected to be handed down on 5 August. The Bashkan of Gagauzia is accused of receiving illegal funding of more than 40 million lei for Sor’s formations.
