Litvinenco: We Will Investigate PSRM's Illegal Funding

PDS deputy Sergiu Litvinenco said that a commission will be created in the future parliament to investigate the illegal funding of the PSRM led by Igor Dodon. The statement was made after the EU Reporter publication about the external funding of the PCRM and PSRM electoral bloc in the current parliamentary elections, deschide.md reports. "An article published yesterday by the reputable Belgian portal EU Reporter showing how the PSRM is funded in these elections shows the gravity of the situation. I clarify, this time we are talking not only about statements on illegal financing of the PSRM (the majority of citizens of the Republic of Moldova knows it), but also about evidence and documents that unequivocally indicate the illegality of the PSRM's actions," Litvinenco wrote. Litvinenco stated that "the so-called progress in improving the situation in terms of financing parties and election campaigns is illusory." "The situation is as serious as in the Plahotniuc days," the deputy concluded. "It is obvious that the millions of euros that the socialists spend on these elections and which they get illegally, grossly violate the law and distort the principles of free and fair elections. Therefore, immediately after the elections, we are going to initiate a parliamentary commission to investigate the illegal financing of the PSRM (in these and in the previous elections, since the problem is obviously systemic), and in order to come up with solutions that will finally help get rid of such phenomena," the parliamentarian added.
