Relations between China and the United States are at an impasse because of Washington's policies, according to Beijing.
The US authorities are responsible for the stalemate in relations with China. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Xie Feng, as the Chinese television report.
"Relations between China and the United States are at an impasse and are facing serious difficulties," he said at a meeting with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman.
Xie Feng added that the US is seeking to "restore a sense of national superiority" by declaring China an "enemy".
During her visit to China, Sherman will also meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
As reported, last week the Chinese authorities imposed sanctions on seven American politicians and organizations because of their "wrong actions" against Hong Kong.
