European Parliament Rapporteur for the Republic of Moldova Dragos Tudorache commented on the nomination of Natalia Gavrilita as a candidate for the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova.
Tudorache stressed that Natalia Gavrilita, together with Maia Sandu, have a chance to change the fate of the country, and Moldova's European path will become a reality, as deschide.md reports.
“Congratulations to Natalia Gavrilitsa on her nomination for the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova! Together with Maia Sandu, she has an unique chance to change the fate of the country forever. Few politicians are pursuing this daunting task. The coming months will be decisive for the new government. I am sure that the pro-European path, which Maia Sandu took with unprecedented persistence, is beginning to come true.
I think everyone knows that Europe supports the efforts of the new government and we are optimistic for the measures that will be taken. In addition to the official statements that corresponded to the main political significance of the last elections, I note the position of European officials who are connected with what is happening in the Republic of Moldova and are ready to provide any support necessary for a quick and effective reform process,” Tudorache wrote on his Facebook page.
Today, on July 30, head of state held consultations with parliamentary factions.
Natalia Gavrilita was nominated by the Action and Solidarity parliamentary faction for the post of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova. Representatives of the Shor faction declared their readiness to support the PAS candidate. The Communists and Socialists Bloc did not come for consultations with Sandu.
At the end of the consultations, President Maia Sandu signed a decree nominating Natalia Gavrilitsa to the Head of government post.
