Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu will meet on Wednesday, October 27, with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.
The official stated this during a press conference on the results of his trip to Moscow.
“We continue to communicate with Gazprom. Negotiations are difficult. On Wednesday I will have a new meeting with Alexey Miller in St. Petersburg. We wish an agreement to be in best interests of our citizens,” Spinu said.
“We discussed a long-term contract with Gazprom and a debt of 700 million accumulated since 1994. Another topic was the gas price for the next year,” the minister added.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that before signing certain obligations, an audit is required to confirm the debt mentioned by Russia.
On October 22, the Republic of Moldova declared a state of emergency due to the energy crisis.
