Sandu Has Promulgated Amendments to the Law on the State Budget for 2021

The law on the state budget for 2021 has been amended. The last stage is the promulgation of the law by the country’s president Maia Sandu. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state on November 26, noi.md reports. The money from the state budget will be used to repay Termoelectrica’s debt to MoldovaGaz, which must pay for the consumed gas supplied by Gazprom. On November 25, 60 deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova voted in the final reading to amend the Law on the Budget for 2021, according to which the amount of 1.4 billion lei will be distributed among the state company Energocom, which will in turn transfer the money to MoldovaGaz needed to pay Moldova’s debt for natural gas. Furthermore, on November 26, the government also approved the allocation by the Ministry of Finance of an amount of 1.4 billion lei to S.A. Energocom.
