The Council of the European Union has decided to provide Ukraine with 31 million euros to strengthen its defense capabilities within the newly established European Peace Facility. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.
“Important news from Brussels: EU Council approved the decision to provide €31 mln to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities...We highly appreciate this step which reaffirms the strategic Ukraine-EU relations,” he wrote on Twitter.
According to the Foreign Minister, the funds will be used for the development and capacity-building of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fields of medicine, engineering, demining activities, mobility and logistics, as well as cybersecurity.
Recall that Dmytro Kuleba discussed with the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel economic sanctions against the Russian Federation. The new sanctions will be able to affect the Russian economy, should the Russian Federation decide to launch a new wave of aggression, the Foreign Minister said.
