Both lines of the gas pipeline will soon be filled with process gas and it can be launched, but this is impossible without certification. Russia expects that the certification of Nord Stream-2 will be completed by mid-2022. This opinion was expressed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in an interview with Russia-24 TV channel. “An application for certification was submitted in the summer. This is a fairly lengthy process, although it can be shorter if desired. But, nevertheless, if we talk about the regulations that have been adopted in Europe, this is quite a long process. And we hope that in 2022, by about the middle of the year, it will be completed,” he said. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation noted that the gas pipeline will be ready for launch soon. “In the near future it will be completed (filling with process gas). And it will be fully ready for gas to go to European consumers from the moment of making decisions the next day,” Novak says. According to him, the NS-2 could have been put into operation long ago, which would have reduced gas prices. “Companies that participated in investments in this infrastructure could, among other things, receive gas for European consumers through this infrastructure. Politicization is also going on around this project. It would have been able to operate long ago if there had not been a big policy and confrontation around this project,” the Russian deputy prime minister said. Корреспондент
