President Maia Sandu held discussions with the Government and Parliament representatives to address additional measures to support citizens due to high heating and gas bills.
“I spoke with my colleagues in parliament and the government about high heating and gas bills resulting from the constant increase in natural gas prices on the European market. We’ve established that additional measures are needed to help consumers pay for heat.
I asked the government to define decisions in the coming days to increase compensation for thermal energy, and in the event of increasing tariffs for natural gas - to increase compensation for gas,” the head of state wrote on Facebook.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu said that the gas tariff could amount to 14.7 lei. The head of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban noted that a new increase in gas tariffs is necessary. According to the published information, they should amount to between 12 and 15 lei per cubic meter.
