Moldovan President Maia Sandu said she condemns the decision to recognize the self-proclaimed LNR and DNR.
“We strongly condemn recognition of the separatist areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. This is clearly against international law. Moldova remains firmly committed to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders,” Sandu wrote on Twitter.

Recall that today, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an address to the Russians, announced the recognition of the DNR and LNR as sovereign states. The head of Russia also signed agreements on cooperation and mutual assistance with the republics. Explaining his decision, Putin said that horror and genocide continue in the south-east of Ukraine.
In addition, Putin signed agreements “on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance” with the heads of the DNR Denis Pushilin and the head of the LNR Leonid Pasechnik.
Russia’s recognition of the self-proclaimed DNR and LNR is in breach of international law and Ukraine’s sovereignty, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.
The United States was prepared for the recognition of the LDPR by Russia. President Joe Biden will soon issue a decree prohibiting new investments, trade and financing of these territories.
