The Russian president’s press secretary forwarded the assessment of British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss’ statements to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Pumping Western arms into Ukraine and other countries threatens the security of the continent, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday, according to tass.ru
“The very trend of pumping arms, including heavy weapons, to Ukraine and other countries threatens the security of the continent, incite instability,” Peskov said, commenting on statements by British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss about arms deliveries to countries other than Ukraine.
At the same time, Peskov redirected the assessment of Truss’ statements to the Russian Foreign Ministry. “As for the assessment of the Foreign Minister’s statements, I wouldn’t want to deny the pleasure of my colleague [Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman] Masha Zakharova to comment on it," the Kremlin spokesman added.
Earlier, Truss called for continued arms supplies to Ukraine and also noted that it was necessary to guarantee that Moldova and Georgia “have the margin of safety and the ability to preserve their sovereignty and freedom.”
