The government will offer new compensations to citizens during the cold season. However, not all citizens will receive help, but only certain categories of people. This was stated by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, reports tv6.md. According to her, the government is preparing a mechanism for compensating gas and heating costs. Gavrilita said that six categories of households will receive compensation this season, depending on income and consumption, which they record monthly. “All households will be assigned to a certain category, but obviously those who can afford higher prices, who lead luxurious lives, will not receive compensation,” the Prime Minister said. At the moment, it is unknown how much help will be given to economic agents. Currently, the price per cubic meter of gas is 18 lei and 62 bani, VAT included. A few days ago, Moldovagaz asked the National Energy Regulatory Agency to raise the tariff by 45 percent. If the request is accepted, a cubic meter will cost 26 lei and 52 bani, VAT included. The gas supplier is demanding that the new price be applied retroactively, starting July 1. Last winter, the government offered compensation to citizens and businesses, and March was the last month when Moldovans paid less for gas and heat. Point
