The Moldovan Defense Ministry reports that the information that a general military mobilization will be announced in the country, which appeared in the media from the Russian Federation, is false.
They said that according to the law from 24.06.2004 № 212 on the regime of emergency, siege and martial law:
– mobilization begins with the declaration of a state of siege or martial law;
– The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova declares mobilization on the proposal of the Supreme Security Council, while the President may declare, with the approval of the Parliament, a partial or general mobilization.
“There is no state of siege in the Republic of Moldova, i.e., there are no circumstances or plans to declare mobilization,” the Defense Ministry said in a press release.
In this regard, citizens are urged to obtain information only from reliable and official sources.
