Starting from today, the authorities will not reveal any more information about the amount of gas that Moldova has in stock. This was stated by Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spinu at a press conference, reports realitatea.md. “Starting from today, we will not announce the volume of gas, which we have in storage, for security reasons. At the same time, I want to assure the citizens that Moldova is provided for two months,” said Spinu. Moldova is facing an unprecedented energy crisis. At the beginning of October, Gazprom announced that it was reducing gas supplies to 5.7 million cubic meters per day. The Russian concern refused to reserve additional volumes, taking into account the increase in winter consumption. The largest consumers are Termoelectrica and CET Nord. To cope with the crisis, Chisinau created gas reserves of 200 million cubic meters. Elementary calculation shows that this amount is enough for about two months of winter, with annual consumption of 1.2 billion cubic meters.
