The Serbian Armed Forces and police have been put on alert by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. Serbian Armed Forces on the border with Kosovo are put on alert. That was announced by the country’s Defense Minister Milos Vucevic, AP reported Monday, December 26. Serbian Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic also said he had “ordered to put the police and other units of the security forces into full combat readiness” and to place them under the command of the army chief of staff in accordance with “their operational plan.” President Aleksandar Vucic said the country’s Defense Ministry and Interior Ministry gave the appropriate orders. According to the Defense Minister, “this raises the country to the highest level of action taken by the Serbian Armed Forces to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, protect all Serbian citizens and prevent terror against Serbs wherever they live.”
