The former president of the Republic of Moldova has expressed the hope that the elections will take place in the coming spring. Moldovan opposition parties must unite their efforts to achieve the resignation of the government and hold early elections. The head of the Moldovan-Russian Business Union and former president Igor Dodon said this on Tuesday, tass.ru reports. “The opposition parties must unite their efforts in the fight against the lawlessness of President Maia Sandu and her ruling Action and Solidarity Party. Now is not the time to recall past grievances. The opposition must have only one objective: the resignation of the government, which is leading the country to disaster. Only by joining forces, including the organization of peaceful anti-government protests, we can achieve an early election,” said Dodon. He expressed hope that this would happen this coming spring. “After I was released from house arrest in November, I visited half of the districts of the republic, where I met with people. Most of them want a change of government, which has deceived their expectations. People believe that early elections will correct the mistake when many voters believed the promises of Sandu and her party,” Dodon said.
