The first audit results of the Moldovagaz debt to Gazprom should be published at the end of January. This was announced by Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development. A source in the Moldovagaz management board told the media on condition of anonymity that there are serious concerns that Gazprom will not recognize the audit results of Moldovagaz’s historical debt, infotag.md reports. The reason is that the auditing company Wikborg Rein Advokatfirma AS (Norway), which conducts the audit, previously helped Naftogaz-Ukraine in its dispute in international arbitration with Gazprom, which the Russian concern lost. “The reason for the debt, which according to the balance sheet of Moldovagaz amounts to $709 million, will be the corporate management of the company, not the Moldovan government,” the source said.
