Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui believes that there is no panacea for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, he stressed that Beijing intends to play a constructive role in alleviating the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. He spoke about this during his visit to Kyiv.
“There is no panacea for the crisis. Ending the war would require all parties to build up trust, based on their own positions. China would play a constructive role in alleviating the humanitarian crisis in its own way,” Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs said.
On May 16, Li Hui kicked off a European tour aimed at finding ways to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Li Hui has already visited Kyiv, where he met with Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. The visits are held behind closed doors: the duration of the tour and the schedule of meetings are not disclosed in advance. The Special Envoy is also expected to visit Poland, France, Germany and Russia.
