Moldova’s senior anti-corruption officer Veroniсa Dragalin accused some prosecutors of leaking distorted information to Telegram channels, smirching fair name of the agency.
Earlier, Telegram channels reported that the senior anti-corruption officer asked subordinates to provide her with a list of their relatives, friends and acquaintances.
“A complaint against a corrupt lawyer, a former anti-corruption prosecutor, appeared on my desk. When something like this comes across my desk, it is very difficult for me to know who to talk to about the case, because I do not know the relationships between colleagues and between people in the Republic of Moldova. So I told the staff to write a list of all the close people, relatives, cousins, brothers and sisters, but we talked about it in jest,” said the head of the anti-corruption agency.
“After that, a Telegram channel exposed me as being hysterical and demanding these lists of all relatives, and I was accused of not respecting the conflict of interest.
After this leak it became clear to me that someone of anti-corruption prosecutors passed this information to the Telegram channels and distorted it. Now I understand that there are corrupt people around us,” Veronica Dragalin concluded.
