An audio recording from a meeting held by the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office Veronica Dragalin with prosecutors and employees of the National Anti-Corruption Center has been made available to the media. The recording was published by the Pulsmedia portal. The press service of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office confirmed its authenticity. “I also have the last straw, I will personally enter someone’s house with masked officers at 6:00 a.m. in front of your children, your wives, your husbands to have you arrested, handcuffed and sent to jail. I cannot wait for that to happen. I will be there personally!” This message by the senior anti-corruption officer was aimed at intimidating her colleagues, as well as the NCBC staff. Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office commented on the audio recording and confirmed its authenticity, but called for its entire publication. “The recording is authentic, it is a fragment of an internal meeting that took place on June 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. with the Anti-Corruption Prosecution team at the NCBC Office. My speech was illegally recorded unknown to me. I urge that person or people to publish the entire speech. I have nothing to fear because I have never said anything that I am not ready to voice publicly. The corrupt officials have something to fear, because we have documents proving their guilt,” Veronica Dragalin responded.
