Moldovan Socialist Party under Unprecedented Attack from Sandu and PAS The Moldovan Socialist Party representatives issued a press release outlining “the attacks”. The press release states that “local councillors, MPs are under unprecedented attack, both by Maia Sandu regime and the PAS, and by an organized mafia group led by Ilan Șor”, realitatea.md reports. “Nothing like this happened even during the years of Vlad Plahotniuc’s state capture. The fugitive convicted criminal, Ilan Șor, using a clone party, the so-called Revival, initiated a massive process of corrupting and buying up members of the Socialist Party. During the last months, the Șor party representatives and renegade MPs Vasile Bolea, Irina Lozovan, Alexandr Nesterovschi and Alexandr Suhodolski directly contacted dozens of our MPs, mayors, local councillors, heads of territorial organizations, promising them sums of several million lei for leaving the Moldovan Socialist Party,” the press release says. The Moldovan Socialist Party said it condemned political corruption involving the former party MPs. “In the territorial organizations where Socialists suffer from such actions, the party’s local teams showed cohesion and new territorial organizations leaders were quickly appointed.” “The Moldovan Socialist Party will not yield to pressure of mafia groups that are hiding under the false cover of the opposition and will continue to fight for Moldova’s statehood, neutrality, pluralism of opinions, media freedom, our Orthodox faith and traditional values,” the statement says
