The president Maia Sandu told this nordnews.md. Sandu says she will insist that the representatives of the pre-vetting commission perform their duties well to avoid such violations. “I think this is another example of justice not respecting the law. We have a case when through violation they try to save a person accused of serious corruption schemes. There are state institutions that should take action. We, on our part, will insist on cleansing the system of such people, people who are trying to abuse their position, perhaps for personal gain and corrupt scheme. We will insist on an extraordinary external evaluation so that all judges and prosecutors who have committed these violations are removed from the system,” Maia Sandu outlined. We would like to recall that former PDM member Vladimir Andronachi, a defendant in a criminal case of fraud and money laundering on a large scale, has been released from house arrest. Representatives of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (APO) announced this on Friday, 11 August. Judge George Balan released Andronachi from house arrest. In turn, the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office Veronica Dragalin demanded that the Superior Council of Magistrates impose sanctions on this judge. Vladimir Andronachi was detained on 2 November 2022 when entering the country through the Kriva-Mamaliga border crossing. He was put on an international wanted list by Interpol for arrest and extradition to Moldova. Two arrest warrants were issued in his name for 2 separate criminal cases, commonly referred to as “bank fraud” and “Metalferos”.
