Russia Retaliated by Closing Entry to a Number of Moldovan Officials

On 18 August, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Russian Federation Lilian Darii was called to the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he received a protest against the “unjustified decision” of official Chisinau to reduce the number of employees of Russian foreign institutions in Moldova. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was emphasized that this hostile decision leads to further destruction of Russian-Moldovan relations, which are already in a deep crisis due to the actions of the Moldovan side. Lilian Darii was informed that, as a similar retaliatory measure, a number of Moldovan officials were denied entry to the Russian Federation. No more details were given.
