The Balti electoral council sent a negative reply to the candidate. According to the draft law, which the deputies voted for in two sessions, former members of the banned SOR party will not be able to run in the next 5 years.

In 2021, Marina Tauber already ran for the mayor’s office in Balti. In the first round of the local elections, which took place on 21 November, she got 47.9% of the votes and advanced to the second round together with the current mayor Nicolae Grigorisin. However, she was removed from the race for the mayor’s seat after the CEC had received materials about undeclared expenses of Tauber’s election headquarters.
At the moment, the politician is under judicial control, which was extended for another 2 months. Before that, the MP was under house arrest during the investigation of two criminal cases: “deliberate receiving party funding from an organized criminal group” and “falsifying the financial management report of the banned SOR party”.
