The ministry says that military observers of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces have travelled to the location. “At this stage, the object’s origin is not clear and its trajectory has not been confirmed from independent sources. State authorities will continue to inform the public as more verified information about the incident becomes available,” the Defense Ministry said. The debris of the missile was found on the territory of Chitcani village, located in the Transnistrian region. According to the head of the Transnistrian delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC), Oleg Belyakov, the explosion was heard around 1 a.m., on the night of 24-25 September, in several settlements in the region. “We are talking about the debris of a S-300 missile found in the garden of a private household, the explosion occurred in the air. There is no damage or casualties,” Belyakov noted. Some Internet users wrote in social networks that explosions were also heard in the settlements of the Causeni district, located in close proximity to the Transnistrian region.
