A group of Moldovan citizens found themselves blocked at Tel Aviv airport and accused the authorities in Chisinau of preventing them from returning home. Our compatriots were due to arrive in Chisinau on a plane organized by Ilan Shor.
When they arrived at the airport, the people found that the flight had not been authorised, which angered the citizens. MFAEI spokesman Igor Zaharov said in this regard that he had talked to the Moldovan ambassador to the State of Israel, Alex Roitman, who, in turn, contacted representatives of the Israeli airport.
“The flights will depart late, including the one mentioned by the citizen under international sanctions, Ilan Shor, as there are many flights at the airport in Israel and take-offs and landings are carried out in an organized manner,” the MFAEI representative said.
According to TV8, the plane with the Moldovans was eventually authorized and took off from Tel Aviv at 22:37.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the institution received the request for permission for the irregular flight from Tel Aviv only in the afternoon of Thursday, 12 October.
“Taking into account the fact that the aircraft is to arrive in Chisinau from a high-risk zone, where an aggressive military conflict is currently taking place, the request was considered as a priority, including security-related aspects.
At the same time, we should note that, in accordance with the National Regulatory Framework, a request for authorizing an irregular flight is considered within 48 hours,” the CAA said.
