The Audiovisual Council (AC) said that the TV channel did not comply with the approved “concept of programmes”. Four out of five members present at the Council meeting voted in favor of the decision. “Regarding the non-compliance with the concept, shortly after the sanction was imposed, we complied and adapted the concept. The sanction was imposed because the percentage of cultural programmes was not respected. We are talking about 2%,” TV8 producer Sergei Niculica said during the meeting. “We are sorry, but it is clearly stipulated in the law. You know the further procedures - submit an application,” said Liliana Vitu, head of AC. It should be noted that TV8 broadcasting license is valid until February 2024 and the channel will continue operating.
