Eleven Moldovan MPs were banned from entering the territory of the Russian Federation. This information was given to the Moldovan ambassador to Moscow, Lilian Darii, who was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that it had summoned Ambassador Darii to express “strong protest over the ongoing politically motivated persecution of the Russian-language media in Moldova, including blocking access to their websites”. Ambassador Darii was “informed that as an asymmetric measure a number of Moldovan officials have been denied entry to the Russian Federation”, the Russian ministry said. Speaking to IPN, Filip Cojocaru, press officer of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, emphasized that 11 MPs are among the officials affected by the ban. “Regardless of Moscow’s decisions or responses, we are determined to continue defending our information space against any external interference and to maintain a firm stance against disinformation, hybrid attacks and attempts to destabilize our country,” Filip Cojocaru said.
