Appeals Chamber Overturns Emergency Situation Commission Decision to Remove Șansă Party From Elections

The Chisinau Court of Appeal overturned the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations that cancelled the registration of candidates from the party to run in the elections. The decision was made on Tuesday, 12 December, by the same panel of judges, which had earlier rejected the petition of the “Șansă” party as inadmissible. At the same time, the cancelled act does not generate legal consequences from the moment this decision enters into legal force. The Commission for Emergency Situations is obliged to publish the decision in the same information source on the official website of the Government. The decision might be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice within 72 hours.
