Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu requested the convening of the Moldovan legislature extraordinary sitting on 17-18 January. The Permanent Bureau will consider this request on Tuesday.
“The initiative to convene an extraordinary Parliament session stems from the urgent need to adopt the legislation that regulates integrity assessment in institutions, the judicial reform, electoral laws and political parties.
The request, submitted to the Permanent Bureau by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, also mentions the need to examine draft laws of socio-economic and political importance for Moldova, which need to be adopted and implemented urgently,” the legislature explained.
The agenda of the extraordinary session is also to be approved by the Permanent Bureau on Tuesday. The Parliament meets for two regular sessions a year. The spring session starts in February and lasts until the end of July. The autumn session starts in September and ends at the end of December.
