The appointment in December of former Romanian Finance Minister Anca Dragu as the head of the National Bank of Moldova has aroused interest not only in Moldova, but also in her country of origin. Victor Wili Apreutesei is an expert in internal security, consultant to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Chisinau. He was a quaestor of the Romanian police. Irina Alexe is an EU expert at the level of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. In Romania she was Romanian Interior Ministry Secretary. Nicolae Grigore is an advisor to the National Bank of Moldova and an expert in prudential supervision and anti-money laundering. He previously worked at the National Bank of Romania.
