Several dozens of large enterprises from Gagauzia re-registered in other country’s regions. Serghei Cimpoes, co-chair of the Parliament and PAG working group, told at the People’s Assembly meeting that about 60 businesses had so far “left and continue to leave”. Thus, according to Cimpoes, Chisinau’s plan “on how to harm Gagauzia” worked. “At this stage, they have achieved their goal, and we lose about 120 million lei per year. Large businesses generate about 35 per cent of budget revenues, if companies leave Gagauzia, we lose the same 120 million. It is zugzwang. Whatever option you choose, you will lose 120 million lei,” Cimpoes said. He emphasized that during 3 months, Gagauzia “had not introduced countermeasures in order not to lose this money”.
