In a published video, Carlson said he decided to talk to the Russian president because most Americans don’t know what “is really going on in Russia and Ukraine.” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Vladimir Putin had given an interview to American television host Tucker Carlson. “His position is different from the rest [of the Western media]. It is in no way pro-Russian, it is not pro-Ukrainian, it is rather pro-American, but at least diverges from the position of traditional Anglo-Saxon media,” Peskov said, according to Interfax.
