A Conscript Soldier Dies during the Drills in Moldova

According to preliminary results of the investigation, the young man committed suicide using his service weapon. According to the Operational Command Center, the incident occurred today, at 12:13 pm, during a training exercise. The medics who arrived on the scene confirmed the serviceman’s death. The soldier was enlisted in December 2023. The Ministry of Defense informed the relevant authorities and forwarded all materials on the case to the prosecutor’s office. At the same time, a special commission of the National Army is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. According to the procedure, the identity of the serviceman will be announced after informing his family. The Defense Ministry expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased young man and will provide all necessary support to clarify this grievous case.
