According to Moldova’s border police, they set up a cordon around alleged wreckage of an Iranian-made Russian drone found near the country’s border with Ukraine.
According to the police, the fragments were found near the villages of Etulia and Vladiceni. They bore the inscription “Geran-2”, which is another name of the Iranian-made Shahed drone used by Russia in the conflict with Ukraine.
The fragments did not contain any hazardous elements and do not pose a risk to residents of the district.
It has also become known today that the Moldovan Defense Ministry has signed a contract for the purchase of a new radar for monitoring the air space.
The purchase was made with the financial support of the European Union under the European Peace Facility (EPF) programme.
