A bill empowering the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) to consider deprivation of citizenship for subjects of international restrictions has been passed by Parliament in the final session. According to the draft, in the case of subjects of international restrictions who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the SIS will examine the validity of deprivation of citizenship and, if necessary, forward the case to the Public Services Agency to initiate the procedure of deprivation of citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, reports ipn.md. The authors also proposed to include the State Tax Service and the Public Services Agency in the roster of bodies to which the Security and Intelligence Service would send an order to approve or amend the list of persons associated with the subjects of international restrictions. Another provision of the draft law concerns the granting of additional powers to the Security and Intelligence Service. In particular, with the information support of the Service for Preventing and Combating Money Laundering, SIS will draw up and approve the list of legal entities in respect of which there is documented information that they are under the control of a restricted person or have as actual beneficiary a restricted person.
