On 6 June, the Facebook accounts of fugitive politician Ilan Sor, the bashkan of Gagauzia Evghenia Gutul, MP Marina Tauber and the leader of the Chance party, Alexei Lungu, were blocked. They were categorized as “dangerous organizations and individuals.” The Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) said in a commentary for TV8 that it had sent Meta, which owner of Facebook and Instagram, data on accounts linked to Russian propaganda back in 2023. “The information related to a list of anonymous accounts that used illegal means to pay for advertising, especially during the general local elections in 2023,” the SIS said in a statement. Today it became known that the Facebook account of MP Marina Tauber has been restored. Meta has not yet commented on why they have reconsidered the decision. Tauber said Ilan Sor and his lawyers are preparing a lawsuit against Meta over the blocking of his account and people associated with them. By 2:45 p.m., Tauber’s main personal and public accounts were once again blocked.
