Former Prosecutor General Alexandru Stoianoglo, who is running for the presidential post, said he would not create his political project, as he was convinced that only an independent candidate could become a President for all citizens.
He said on Exclusiv TV that he would be equally concerned about the interests of all citizens and would create conditions for holding fair and free parliamentary elections, infotag.md reports.
“It is necessary to respect citizens’ rights and freedoms, to return the democratic state principles. In the last two or three years, these principles have been abandoned,” Stoianoglo believes.
He said he had several constructive meetings with Ion Chicu, Vladimir Voronin, Irina Vlah and Renato Usatîi.
“Everyone supported my appearance in the political arena and the idea of new faces in politics. We will continue consultations to develop a unified position for the upcoming elections. For example, to the actions of the Central Election Commission, which is politically controlled by the ruling party,” Stoianoglo said.
He explained his nomination as a presidential candidate with the Socialist party’s support by the fact that ‘as an opposition party, it has the highest ratings, is represented in the Parliament and has structures in the districts”.
“We have a real chance of reaching the second round of elections,” the former Prosecutor General believes.
