This is the statement of the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, on a video titled “The Minister is having a good rest” that appeared on the web.
The video footage shows a man looking like Alaiba, as well as several women. The persons concerned appear to be in the sauna, with glasses and bottles of alcohol on the tables, agora.md reported.
“Coincidentally, this fake, which could have been made public at any moment, is cleverly released on this very day to cover the disgraceful news that the Kremlin candidate has Romanian citizenship. A cheap shot,” Alaiba posted in response on his official Facebook page.
“I know how devoid of imagination and creativity they can be and how far they are willing to go to protect their obscure interests. I know because this isn't the first time, I bear it on my back.
Other than spreading cheap fakes, they can’t do anything.
In Moldova, Russia invests in propaganda, not in the economy. In Moldova, Russia is creating lies, not jobs, high salaries and added value. Remember this when you go to the polls!
I call for vigilance. We have 20 days of campaigning left. There’s going to be a lot of mudslinging. A lot of fakes, lies and slander. They will do everything to lead us astray, but they will fail,” Alaiba added.
