From 3 to 9 February, pumping through the Strandzha-2 compressor station on the border between Turkey and Bulgaria (the onshore continuation of TurkStream) exceeded 390 million cubic meters. This became a weekly record of supplies since the launch of the pipeline in January 2020, kommersant.ru reported citing data from the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators. The previous record was set in January (376 million cubic meters). In addition, the record for daily deliveries was exceeded several times last week, most recently on Monday, 10 February (56.7 million cubic meters). TurkStream is Russia’s only remaining supply route to Europe. The capacity of the gas pipeline passing through Turkey reaches 15.75bn cubic meters per year, Reuters reported. On 1 February, Gazprom resumed gas supplies to Slovakia via the TurkStream pipeline. The supplies are part of the contract with the Russian company, which runs until 2034. Before that, Slovakia received gas from Russia through Ukraine, but on 1 January 2025 the contract on pumping through this direction expired. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that the country had the right to cut off gas transit to Ukraine.
