The holding of parliamentary elections scheduled for 28 September will cost the state budget 162 million lei, as stated by the head of the Central Electoral Commission, Angela Karaman. “We estimated the election budget at 180 million lei. We received 162 million lei, and from this amount we distributed funds for certain activities. The main part is the payments to the members of the electoral commissions, but, of course, there are also expenses for telecommunications, internet, technical equipment and everything necessary for the proper organization of the elections,” the CEC head said on the air of Rezoomat programme on RLIVE TV. Parliamentary elections will be held on 28 September 2025. This decision was made by MPs at a meeting on 17 April 2025. We shall remind you that the parliament sets the date of parliamentary elections. The mandate of the current parliament expires on 11 July 2025, and according to the current legislation, the elections can be held within three months after this date.
