The Central Election Commission registered the Alternativa bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for 28 September. The decision was adopted with eight votes in favor, with only CEC Chair Angela Caraman voting against, according to rupor.md. When presenting the project, CEC Deputy Chairman Pavel Postica noted that there were some shortcomings in the documents submitted, which the Alternativa bloc must address. The period for submitting documents for the registration of electoral blocs began on 20 June. The Alternativa bloc was the first to submit its documents to the CEC. It is formed by the National Alternative Movement (MAN), the Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova, Common Action Party – Civil Congress, and former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo. According to the CEC, the deadline for submitting an application for registration of an electoral bloc is 13 August. Blocs are formed on the basis of an agreement between at least two registered political parties, and documents must be submitted no later than 30 days before the start of the candidate nomination period.
