Today, on August 4, 2025, the Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) approved the decision to revoke License Series AC No. 001402, issued on November 6, 2018, to Moldovagaz for the activity of supplying natural gas. “This decision concludes the years-long efforts of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to ensure the separation and independence of the natural gas transportation infrastructure. It is important to note that in the latest official statement on this matter, made in July, Moldovagaz notified ANRE of the impossibility of completing the unbundling process in accordance with Article 28 of Law No. 108/2016, citing the lack of consensus among the main shareholders – an issue beyond the scope of the company’s management authority.” In the same letter, the company expressed its readiness to cooperate with the new supplier, to whom public obligations were assigned (S.A. Energocom), and stated its openness to coordinating all organizational, logistical, and operational activities necessary to ensure the uninterrupted supply of gas to end consumers,” the agency stated.
