From 1 September 2025, Energocom will assume the role of national natural gas supplier for more than 830,000 consumers in the Republic of Moldova. The transition is automatic and does not require any additional action on the part of citizens, writes noi.md. To avoid interruptions in billing and service provision, Energocom and Moldovagaz have signed a cooperation agreement valid until 31 March 2026, with the possibility of extension. Under the agreement, Moldovagaz will temporarily take over billing and administrative relations with end consumers, while Energocom will ensure the actual supply of gas. The decision was made after ANRE revoked the supply licenses of Moldovagaz and Nord Gaz Sîngerei, appointing Energocom as the supplier with obligations to provide public services for the next three years. According to the authorities, the agreements concluded between the parties ensure an orderly transition, compliance with the principles of transparency and protection of consumer interests. Energocom representatives have assured that natural gas supplies will not be interrupted and that current tariffs will remain unchanged until a new decision is taken by ANRE.
