Former Energy Minister in the Recean government, Victor Parlicov, stated that he sees no problem with Moldova purchasing Russian gas.
“And even if the gas was purchased in Russia, I see absolutely no crime in this, so to speak, if it was purchased on the European market, on a transparent market, where it ended up legally. Because if we bought it in Greece, it means that somehow it ended up in Greece. Personally, I don’t see a problem, even if the gas was of Russian origin. I repeat, from the moment it changed its first owner, after it was extracted, it was sold, after that it was no longer Gazprom’s gas, it was already the gas of some trader...”, Parlicov expressed his opinion.
At the same time, the current Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, stated that the probability of right-bank Moldova receiving “Russian molecules” of gas is extremely low. According to him, the country purchases gas on European markets through the state-owned company Energocom.
